Top Five Worst Star Wars Rebels episodes

They say for every "Ying," there needs to be a "Yang." For every good, there's a bad. Not too long ago, I counted down my ten favorite episodes of Rebels. Now, it's time to count down my five least favorite episodes (I won't be that negative and do ten). Granted, I didn't hate a lot of episodes in the show. Some were mediocre and disappointing. However, these are the episodes to me, that I simply do not like, and feel could be skipped entirely.

5. The Lost Commanders (Season 2)

Yes, it was nice to see Rex, Wolfe, and Gregor again, and yes, the conversations about Order 66 were interesting, but that was all that I really liked about this episode. I knew from the advertising that this episode would be lackluster, as not much is done in the episode at all. It essentially drags to a halt to hunt a giant worm. Wow, how exciting! Thankfully, the next episode, Relics of the Old Republic, gave the Clones so much better things to do, and Rex would go along to be a good side character in the show.

4. Fighter Flight (Season 1)

One of the oldest complaints people tend to have with shows is filler. For those that don't know what filler is, it is basically a story, episode, etc., that has little to no effect on the plot, often use to fill in material in between major arcs. This episode was a text-book definition of filler, and was only the second official episode of the show. Nothing from this episode contributed to anything. What, Zeb and Ezra learn to bond over fruit. If you wanted them to bond, it could have been done so much better, and it has been done better on the show too. Plus, the filler itself, again, wasn't that compelling to me in my opinion.

3. Double Agent Droid (Season 3)

In the beginning, I actually didn't mind AP-5. I liked his attitude and character, especially playing off of Chopper. However, like C-3PO, the more you get of him, the more and more irritating he gets. He was slowly getting on my nerves throughout season 3, but this episode really pushed him over the edge for me. To me, he was down right obnoxious in this episode. I get it, that was the joke, but I didn't laugh. Plus, the story in the episode wasn't that important in the grand scheme, and of course, who can forget the riveting scene when AP-5 sings in space. Yes, that happened.

2. Iron Squadron (Season 3)

I know for a lot of fans, this is their least favorite episode, and, for good reason. When I first reviewed the episode, I thought it was "meh." However, after rethinking about it and watching it again, the more and more I grew to dislike this episode. The main episode, Mart is a little asshole. He is so unlikeable, even beyond the usual orphaned teen trope. He was basically what I didn't like about Ezra, times two. He did come back in future episodes, and was more likeable, but man, this episode was such a major irritation to watch him in.

Dishonorable mentions

Before my obvious number one, here are some dishonorable mentions:

The Call -- Season 2 -- Yes, the purrgil "space whales," were the thing that defeated Thrawn in the series finale, which was cool, but that doesn't mean I like their episode where they were introduced.

Crawling Commandeers -- Season 4 -- To me, this is the only real blemish on Season 4, as I thought this episode was painfully average with low stakes, an annoying as hell character, and mild action at best.

Blood Sisters -- Season 2 -- I didn't think this episode was bad per say, but I didn't think it was that bad either, it was just, cliche. That's the best way that I could describe it.

1. The Wynkathu Job (Season 3)

I can't say this enough, screw this episode. I get that this is a show for kids, but you don't have to subject them to this. Every complaint I have with the other episodes, I have here. It is a filler episode, and a horrible one at that. It has bad writing, characterization, annoying characters and moments, low stakes, and is down-right forgettable. The other episodes, perhaps you could watch if you want more detail, but this episode, can be skipped entirely. There is absolutely no reason, for me, to watch this episode. Whereas Twilight of the Apprentice is my favorite Star Wars TV episode ever, this episode is my least favorite, which is quite the accomplishment.
