REVIEW: Star Wars Forces of Destiny "Triplecross"
To celebrate Solo, a new episode of Forces of Destiny was released last Friday staring Qi'ra, which I guess serves as the season two finale. Much like the rest of the show, I thought the episode was ok for what it was. It was nothing special at all, but it wasn't horrible either.
The story revolves around IG-88 and Hondo trying to catch Qi'ra due to the bounty on her head. From there, "shenanigans" ensue as Qi'ra cleverly works her way around the two and captures both of them for the bounties on their head. Having seen Solo, the way they depict Qi'ra in this episode makes sense for her character, plus, I got a kick out of her interacting with Hondo, who is always voiced well by Jim Cummings, despite what problems I might have had with him before.
The art style is still ok for what it is and for the budget that it has. Sadly, they didn't get Emilia Clarke to reprise her role, and the voice actress they got for her is...average, not horrible, but not, great, which is a great representation of what I think of Forces of Destiny in general. Will I like to see more episodes in the future. I suppose, but I won't be clamoring in the streets or online for the show to continue either.
