STAR WARS REBELS SEASON 4 TRAILER REACTION

So, it was announced that season 4 will be the last season of Rebels. While it is sad to hear, Dave Filoni, the executive producer, said that this season will wrap up the storylines of the Ghost crew while also serving as a great conclusion to the story of the show overall. I'll go into more detail of what I want in the final season later in another article, but for now, I'll be talking about what I thought of the trailer and some of the storylines that we have to look forward to.

Right off the bat, let me say that the Mandalorian storyline that has been going on for the last few seasons will have a big impact this season. After months of rumors and speculation, it was finally revealed that Clone Wars character Bo-Katan will be a big supporting character this season. In case you forgot, she was a member of Death Watch who rebelled against Darth Maul's rule. Many speculated that she would appear in the series to possibly take up the title as ruler of Mandalore.

As a fan, I'm excited to see the character again and it makes sense for the story to bring her back and possibly be an ally to the Alliance and a mentor to Sabine.

Bo-Katan and the Mandalorians are featured heavily in this trailer so hopefully their storyline is wrapped up nicely this season and doesn't waste any opportunities that it is given. However, while I am excited for the subplot, I hope it doesn't take away from the other stories that the season tries to tell, rather it helps connect them all together and helps tie the main story together.

Obviously the main storyline of the season is the continuing growth of the Rebel Alliance and how it will set up Rogue One and a New Hope. The trailer shows a lot of shots of action between the Alliance and the Empire which looks awesome. Of course, we also saw shots of the Rebel base at Yavin 4, which, if its the main Rebel location this season, will be nice to see. Thrawn is also in the trailer so we'll see what sort of threat he will be in this season.

Also, much like the Mandalorian subplot, I hope that this plot has no fluff or filler, instead gets directly to the point. What I mean is no more episodes dedicated to a supply run or getting allies that never show up again (Iron Squadron). Make sure that every thing you tell is something that needs to be said and make sure everything moves the plot forward in a big way. Also, X-WINGS!

So, not only is Agent Kallus a rebel now, but he is also a captain? Well, I know the Alliance is desperate now but you will literally promote a guy who just defected from the Empire to a position of authority? Hey, whatever floats your boat. Speaking of promotions, Filoni confirmed we will see Hera get promoted to General which was first referenced in Rogue One.

Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera is also confirmed to be back in season 4. Filoni said that Saw, who looks more like his appearance in Rogue One, will be explored more and it will also be explained how he broke ties with Mothma and the Alliance, which will be interesting to see.

Other than Thrawn, the other major villain of the season was revealed. His name is Rukh, who is voiced by Star Wars veteran Warwick Davis (Wicket). For those that know the old Timothy Zahn Thrawn trilogy, the name may sound familiar. That's because he is another character that is being brought back to canon from Legends. In the old stories, he was Thrawn's bodyguard and assassin. Hopefully he will be an interesting and threatening villain like Thrawn and the Grand Inquisitor, and not like the Fifth Brother.

Well, it seems that Dave Filoni was a big fan of Studio Ghibli and Princess Mononoke because this wolf that is featured throughout and looks just like the wolves from the movie. In the trailer, the shots of the wolf are played over dialogue from Kanan. In this dialogue, he tells Ezra why it is important for them to be Jedi and why it is important to be the balance.

Every season so far has had a Jedi subplot so it will be interesting to see this storyline and how it ties into the personal storylines of the Jedi. Obviously, the writers have something big planned for the two as every Star Wars fan is wondering what is going to happen to the two since Luke is the last Jedi by Return of the Jedi. Also, this is now the second trailer in two days to talk about balance of the force. I just thought I would bring that up because I think that was interesting.

Dave, DAVE, DAVE!. Listen to me carefully. I don't ask for much. I only ask for two things. Let us see what happened to Ahsoka and give us a Kanan and Hera kiss. You have been teasing their relationship since day one and I know you are teasing us because you know how shipped they are. Just give us this one thing Filoni!

Overall, this was a really exciting trailer. I'm really excited to see how all these storylines are going to come together and wrap up all the characters' stories and finally set up the original trilogy.
