Marvel's Jessica Jones Full-Length Trailer
What could be better than the teasers we've been getting lately? A trailer that actually shows the plot! With only a month left in the wait, we finally have a full trailer that gives the lowdown on the story, the characters, and the darkest tone we've ever seen for a Marvel project. Check it out.
It's probably safe to say that showing this trailer would have probably done absolutely nothing to make people less interested, but I guess that's how promotion works. Anyway, the trailer gives all the things we were hoping to see in a Jessica Jones series based on the Alias comic. The instances of PTSD, the bouts of superstrength done by our title character, and a significant role for Luke Cage who it looks like may not have always known about her superpowers. However, the trailer is wise to leave some things out like a clear look at David Tennat's Kilgrave (though his presence is most certainly felt) and a few passing glances at the supporting characters such as Trish Walker (AKA HELLCAT), Jeri Hogarth, Hope, and Malcolm. They have to leave something to the imagination.
Either way, if the series is anything like this trailer, it will definitely be one of the greatest things Marvel has produced, probably more than Daredevil. After all, within the dark and gritty Hell's Kitchen setting is a story about a traumatized female ex-superhero fighting an evil supervillain with the power to control people. It may not have a head being slammed by a car door, but this show will probably have the creepiest and most impossibly badass scenes of the Netflix universe. Even now, I can't get enough of Jessica punching guys through a wall.
